From Newsroom to Narrow Streets: How Linda Oland Travels Light
Linda Oland, a former producer at CTV News and CP24, knows how to tell a story. After years behind the scenes, organizing and coordinating complex projects, Linda has mastered the art of efficiency—and when it comes to travel, she applies that same precision. Recently, Linda embarked on a 6-week adventure through Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, armed with only a carry-on suitcase and a carefully selected capsule wardrobe from Helene Clarkson.
“The key to carry-on travel is…layering!” Linda shares. “A cooler-than-usual March in southern Europe meant sun, wind, rain and temperatures in the low-to-mid teens—but I’ve learned so much from Helene and her fabulous designs. Dresses and scarves were key, plus a few tops in different sleeve lengths and the Getaway Capsule pant and sweatshirt set. Everything packed and washed beautifully. And the joy of not checking a bag? Hard to describe until you do it!"

The Capsule That Kept Up With Every Stop
From bustling souks to seaside strolls, Linda’s wardrobe delivered comfort and style wherever she went.

Linda's travel essentials included:
✔️ Versatile Dresses – Chic for dinner, casual for sightseeing
✔️ Lightweight Scarves – Elevate any outfit, perfect for unpredictable weather
✔️ Smart Sleeve Options – Adapts to both warm and chilly days
✔️ Getaway Capsule Pant & Sweatshirt Set – Effortlessly stylish, endlessly practical
“I used to pack ‘just in case’ pieces I never wore,” says Linda. “Now, every item works overtime—and I still feel like myself.”
Travel Like a Producer: Smart, Simple, Stylish
Years in television taught Linda how to plan ahead and stay flexible. Her travel wardrobe is no different.
“Everything I brought could be mixed, matched, and layered. I didn’t have to think twice about what to wear. And that meant more energy for exploring.”
From navigating cultural nuances to catching flights, Linda proves that traveling light doesn’t mean sacrificing polish.

HC Traveler Q&A
What made your recent trip unforgettable?
The opportunity to fully immerse myself in three rich, diverse cultures—especially Morocco, which was truly a sensory experience. And I did it all with just a carry-on. That freedom made the trip even more rewarding.
Your packing philosophy?
Less is more. Pack fewer things that do more. Layering is essential—and multifunctional pieces make all the difference.
How do you stay stylish and comfortable?
Comfort is key, especially on long flights or full days out. But I still want to look pulled together. Helene Clarkson’s designs let me do both. The Getaway Set is my go-to—it’s the ultimate in chic comfort.
Best advice for traveling lighter?
Resist the urge to overpack. Focus on quality, versatile pieces—and don't forget accessories. A great scarf or simple jewellery can change an outfit entirely. And always think in layers!
Linda’s Favourite HC Pieces:
The Getaway Capsule Pant & Sweatshirt Set – “Perfect for planes and everything after.”
The Nadi 7-In-1 Travel Wrap – “It goes everywhere with me—versatile and lightweight, but instantly elevates a look.”

Her Travel Philosophy: Lighten Up—Literally!
“Travel is about connection, discovery, and creating lasting memories. When I stopped packing ‘just in case’ and started packing with intention, every trip became more joyful. Less truly is more.”
Favourite Destination (For Now!)
“Spain. The landscape, the people, the food—it’s intoxicating. I’ve traveled a lot, but there’s something about Spain I can’t get enough of.”
From the Editors of Helene Clarkson
Linda’s story proves you don’t have to sacrifice comfort or style to travel smarter. With the right wardrobe, every trip becomes a little more effortless—and a lot more memorable.
