Recipe: Poached Salmon à la Madeleine

Recipe: Poached Salmon à la Madeleine

There’s something special about a recipe that’s been passed down — especially one that feels as effortless as it is elegant. This is my mother’s poached salmon, a dish we’ve returned to year after year for Easter and Passover. It’s light, refined, and quietly celebratory — the kind of meal that brings people together without any fuss, and always feels like the beginning of spring.

I like to serve it simply, with a glass of crisp Chablis and a table that doesn’t feel overdone — just a few fresh flowers, good company, and pieces you feel comfortable in. It’s a reminder that the best gatherings are often the simplest ones — thoughtful, easy, and made to be enjoyed.
