Some combinations just make sense.
This month’s sip is a Champagne Margarita — a celebratory twist on a classic, and the perfect pairing for long lunches, travel evenings, or simply marking the moment. Helene has always loved both tequila and champagne, and this cocktail brings them together in a way that feels effortless, bright, and just a little indulgent.
It’s refreshing without being sweet, elegant without being fussy — the kind of drink you can sip slowly while getting dressed for dinner, or enjoy barefoot in the kitchen at the end of a good day.
Champagne Margarita
Serves 6
Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup silver tequila
1/2 cup orange liquor
1 bottle Champagne
Lime wedges and salt for the rim
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
-
Run lime wedges around the rim of each champagne flute and dip the rims in coarse salt.
-
Divide margaritas between flutes and garnish with lime wedges.
P.S. This is a great make-ahead drink for a crowd. If you want to make this in advance, combine all of your ingredients—minus the Champagne—into a pitcher and refrigerate. When you're ready to serve, divide your margarita mixture into your glasses, then top with Champagne.
